3D printed Hellboy by KrissiIstSoCool
3D printed Hellboy
Hey guys! Do you remember my recent Hellboy redesign? If not take a look at the project -->…
The printed model is about 4 inches tall. The dynamesh tool from zBrush works pretty amazing for print optimized meshes! So what do you guys think? C&C are very welcome!

Hey guys! My college recently bought a 3D printer and I decided to check it out and print my latest work :) I'm very curious about the outcome. The dynamesh tool from zBrush works pretty amazing for print optimized meshes! Bless this tool!

How much practice do you recommend when learning sculpting?
KrissiIstSoCool Featured By Owner Apr 14, 2015  Student Filmographer
Your sculpts are awesome! I think you are much better than me...I'm just learning it by myself aswell :D haha
I usually try to sculpt every day for 1-3 hours. Hm what helped me the most was trying to create as much different characters as possible in the beginning. There are various "spit sculpt" groups on facebook or da which suggest you daily themes for 45 min sculpting of a themebased character or bust. Fun to see how others dealed with the same problems and how they solve them.  It's better to get to know the tools and how to achieve things than trying to build up a whole character.

Keep it up! You are doing great! :)

You are much better than me by miles…, I have not been able to finish anything yet lol, to that level of quality.

Im trying to create full character busts and full characters aswell, but I never get them done only at rare moments to I start something but I never finish it, and I suffer from huge self doubt about my work, I think it always looked crap lol

My not so older stuff especially looks like crap.

I need to find some way of getting my creativity going.

It's not about getting finished with something. I think you learn way more by looking at your work and see mistakes. The fact that you can see your own mistakes means you can get better :) You can't get better without seeing any mistakes, you know? Take your time and don't burn out! You are doing so great. Some things need time. I am kind of a workaholic and perfectionist aswell. I never think my work looks good. It keeps me motivated to speak with other people about my work and what they would change. That always help me looking through my perfectionism and draw a line where to bring a picture to an end.
And you are only 17! And you already compare yourself to the leading artist in the industry (which can be good and bad). I am sure you'll make it there! Take some time and relax. Find something or someone that motivates you. Once you'll achieve how to deal with motivation and frustration you will be unstopable! That's for sure! :D

Same is true for sculpting. :)
